I like to take just about everything of value from dungeons and from every corps I created in my travels.
I am a bit of a pack rat. To help me accomplish this I needed an easy to use and access portable storage container.
I tried a few of the mod available and found them to be too complicated or lacking in some other way so I created my own.
This move works with SKSE64 and SkyUI if you have them installed. If you don't it will work without them.
SKSE version
You open the storage using a hot key.
The key is configurable using MCM. The default key is O.
By default the container can store 2,000 pounds (or whatever the unit is).
The maximum storage weight can be configured using MCM.
non-SKSE version
Add two lesser powers:
Open Storage
Storage Settings – displays the setting menu.
Install
Standard install, use the mod manager of your choice to install or just drop the unzip the archive into your Data directory manually and activate the esp.
UPDATING: If you're updating it's best to completely remove this mod. Remove all items from storage then save. Remove this mod then reload your save. You should get a warning about missing content. Click 'Yes' and let the game load. Make a new save. That should be enough but to be sure you could run FallrimTools on the last save file.
Uninstall
Make sure you take everything out of the storage then either use your mod manger or deactivate the file and then delete the esp and script files. All files begin with 'ectnStorage'.
Comparability
No known comparability issues. There shouldn't be any.

Version 1.7
- - Legendary Edition Patch. Non-DLC versions are no longer supported. I appologise to anyone who doesn't yet have the DLC, but with the Special Edition out for Skyrim now, I'd have to update my mods three times each for DLC, non DLC and Special Edition. I sadly, don't have the time to do this. The last non-DLC version of the mod will be left available to download, but will no longer be updated.
- NEW menu system when placing containers. No more accidently placing or needing to crouch to pick up!
- NEW Containers added. These include:
- Small Dwemer Cabinet
- Small Fine Table
- Fine Table
- Long Table (From Hearthfire)
- Soul Cairn Cache (Requires having been to and left the Soul Cairn)
- Small Soul Cairn Cache (Requires having been to and left the Soul Cairn)
- Soul Cairn Chest (Requires having been to and left the Soul Cairn)
- Falmer Chest
- Large Falmer Chest
- Canopic Jar
- Large Canopic Jar
- Large Urn
- Large Urn with Stand
- Burial Urn
- Ornate Chest
- Sack
- Small Sack
- Large Sack
- NEW Options in the menu system for adjusting the position and angle of a container. You can change how much the container moves by selecting Settings when in the Position or Angle sub-menus.
- Menu system for movement and angles improved! No more second delay when clicking options to let the container 'fade in'. The Container no longer has to fade in, so I removed the delay.
- All Containers appear under the Containers category instead of Misc now.
- Several containers are now crafted at the Tanner, instead of the forge. These include the Satchel, the Sacks and the Pouch
- Several containers have requirements now before they appear in your crafting menu. Most of these are just smithing skill checks. Naturally, higher quality containers require higher level smithing skill. Others, require perks such as Dwemer Smithing is required for Dwemer containers. Elven Smithing for Falmer and Snow elf containers. And in the case of Soul Cairn containers, you have to have been to and escaped the Soul Cairn before they'll appear in your crafting list.
- Havok redone and improved for all the container markers, making placement easier
- Required materials have been revamped to better use available materials from all expansions and try to make it feel more realistic.
- Values have been reworked to be slightly higher than the required materials
- - Legendary Edition Patch. Non-DLC versions are no longer supported. I appologise to anyone who doesn't yet have the DLC, but with the Special Edition out for Skyrim now, I'd have to update my mods three times each for DLC, non DLC and Special Edition. I sadly, don't have the time to do this. The last non-DLC version of the mod will be left available to download, but will no longer be updated.
Version 1.5
- Added Several new container types for people wishing to furnish setup a home! Dressers, Wardrobes, Cupboards and more, oh my!
Version 1.4
- Outdoor bug fixed. Whiterun, however, is still unreliable with placement due to a problem with Whiterun's ground itself, not this mod.
- Added three new containers. Silver Urn, Dwemer Cabinet, Large Chest
- Dawnguard Patch users can craft a Snow Elf Chest
- Dragonborn Patch users can craft a Dunmer Urn
Version 1.3
- Fixed the buggy havok on the Fine End Table's Kit.
- Touched up all havok models to further optimize size and improve havok settings
Version 1.2
- New Modular system for supporting DLC items in the Sorting system and allowing me to even add support for more mods in the future!
- New scale option, allowing you to change the size of a containers
- Misc tweaks to fix some things I forgot to add to the sorting system
Version 1.1
- Added Auto-sort options for Consumables, which opens a sub menu for Potions, Food and Drink
- Added Auto-sort Options for Equipment, which opens a sub menu for Weapons, Staves, Armor, Clothes, Jewelry and Daedric Artifacts
Both straight donations and premium membership donations accepted
I haven't had the chance yet, but was wondering if there was a mod to keep a body, or bodies, from disappearing? I was going as far as thinking of some kind of cavern or tomb I can make with the creation kit where I can store them, instead of a room in my house. But it'd be pointless if they randomly up and vanish. Is there a mod or console command that prevents this? Thanks.
Skyrim Portable Storage Mod Download
Campfire includes a multitude of equipment to provide a complete camping experience. Most of these new supplies can be crafted, either at a Tanning Rack or by selecting the Survival Skill: Create Item ability and pressing the Shout key. Some can be purchased by visiting general goods merchants in Skyrim.
Portable Storage Units For Rent
This page is under construction. The legacy Frostfall Documentation has a comprehensive list of most of the items that can be crafted or purchased in Campfire, however some items may have changed or may no longer be available. Until then, feel free to explore the Survival Skill: Create Item or Tanning Rack crafting menus!
Survival Skill: Create Item
Using the Create Item ability, a wide array of useful gear can be created no matter where you are. Below is a gallery of everything that can be crafted using Create Item.
They only increase it a little, so be prepared to take time to do it. Try using Petty or Minor Soul Gems with rats, scribs, cliff racers, etc. The Enchant skill is the best-kept secret in the game. In them on blank pieces of paper to make spell scrolls. Morrowind how to enchant.
Backpacks
Backpacks are worn gear that grant a bonus to Carry Weight. They also dynamically display any cooking pot, tent, torch, woodcutter’s axe, or waterskin you are carrying on the outside of the pack.
Backpacks can be enhanced by combining them with an amulet of the Nine Divines at a tanning rack. These enhance their visual appearance and grant one-half of the bonus normally granted by the amulet. The backpack and amulet can be separated later.
Tents
Umineko no naku koro ni. Tents are an important piece of camping equipment. A tent can be used to sit or sleep, and your followers can sit and sleep inside them as well. They include lanterns to shed some light and are important in mods like Frostfall where being able to take shelter in the wilderness is essential.
To place a tent, use the tent in your inventory and a blue indicator will appear. The indicator will follow your movements and adjust to the slope of the ground. When you have determined where you would like to place your tent, press the confirm button and the tent will be set up.
Time to take a load off! When you sit or sleep inside a tent, some of your worn equipment will be removed and placed in and around your tent. It will be automatically re-equipped when you get up. You can choose which pieces of gear should be removed in Campfire’s configuration menu, or disable the feature entirely.
By default, tents and other camping equipment can burn down if struck with a torch or flame spell. Be careful with fire when near your camp! (Campfires can never burn down camping equipment.)
All tents come with one or more lanterns. Select your bedroll and select the Use Lantern option to turn it on or off.
